Raj Ananthanpillai
Chairman, CEO and President
Mr. Ananthanpillai is the Chairman, CEO and President of InfoZen and has been with the company since January 2004. Previously he was a Partner at The MIRA Group LLC, a Business Strategy and Financial Consulting Firm. Prior to that, he served as the Chief Strategy Officer of ePlus, Inc. (NASDAQ: PLUS), a business process automation, asset management and financial services company, responsible for technology, marketing, analyst relations and business strategy. Prior to that, he was the president and CEO of NetBalance Corporation, a venture capital backed multi-million dollar software products and services company, which was successfully sold in February 2000.
Before founding NetBalance Mr. Ananthanpillai was the Vice President of strategy and marketing at I-NET, Inc., a $300+ multi-million dollar company, where he was responsible for developing new products, services, markets, strategic business alliances and overall strategy. He had also served as the Vice President and General Manager of one of I-NET's business units, growing a multi-million dollar IT outsourcing and managed services business offering to Fortune 100 and public sector customers. Prior to joining I-NET, Mr. Ananthanpillai spent several years at AT&T and was responsible for directing and managing the company's global messaging system managed services.
Mr. Ananthanpillai holds an M.S. in Engineering Physics, an M.S. in Electrical Engineering, and Executive Management degrees in International Business Management and Financial Planning. He is also a Certified Financial Planner (CFP ®), with a US Patent on managing networked systems, and the author of two books in the area of Systems Management and Managed Services. Additionally, Mr. Ananthanpillai is a frequent speaker at executive forums and is widely profiled in industry trade and business publications. He has appeared on business television programs, and mentors several emerging companies, serving on the board of some of them. Mr. Ananthanpillai is also on the advisory board of Johns Hopkins Business School and is a practitioner faculty, teaching Competitive Strategy in the University's MBA program.
Dwight L. Carmichael
Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Carmichael is responsible for directing and overseeing all financial and accounting activities for InfoZen. He has 20 years of experience in chief financial officer positions and 11 years of Big Four public accounting experience. He has extensive experience in government contracting with midmarket companies including chief financial officer positions with American Institutes for Research, DCS Corporation and two divisions of Computer Sciences Corporation. Prior to becoming a chief financial officer, Mr. Carmichael was a senior audit manager with Arthur Andersen & Co. for five years and held controller positions with two companies.
Mr. Carmichael received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Manuel Miranda
Senior Vice President, National Security and Intelligence Markets
Manuel Miranda is Senior Vice President for National Security and Intelligence Markets. In this position, he is responsible for the ongoing operation and continuing growth of an InfoZen organization that supports developing and maintaining national security programs in high-threat, high-profile environments.
Prior to joining InfoZen, Mr. Miranda spent nearly 30 years at Unisys, Identix, UNITECH and other companies providing senior leadership to Engineering and Information Technology programs for Federal Government, State & Local Government and International programs in Japan.
The wide span of technical organizations that Mr. Miranda has led includes Information Technology Services, Software Application Development, Electrical & Systems Engineering, Distant Learning Software Solutions, Biometric Security Solutions and Product Life Cycle Development. Some of the programs and customers that he has worked with include NASA, USDA, ATF, Army, USMC, Navy, TSA, CBP, DHS, DTRA, White Sands, National Guard, State Department and DOE.
Mr. Miranda has over 30 years of innovative, entrepreneurial, collaborative and customer partnering leadership experience. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland and completed postgraduate work in Biomedical Engineering at George Washington University.
Eugene J. Costa
Senior Vice President, Healthcare and Civilian Agency Markets
Eugene (Gene) Costa, is Senior Vice President over InfoZen's expanding Healthcare and Civilian Agency Markets. Gene oversees the company’s internal business operations including Human Capital, Contracts, Facilities and IT infrastructure. Gene possesses over 30 years experience focusing on the interplay of technology, business, and government. He has been primarily involved in providing specialized services in the areas of benefit and service delivery; smart card, biometric and identity management solutions; health care systems and access; emerging technologies; and in the building of creative and effective collaborative arrangements.
Prior to joining InfoZen, Gene was a co-founder of Imadgen, LLC, a consultancy that provided advisory services to federal, state, and commercial organizations concerning strategic planning, new market development, program management, acquisition support and implementation assistance, and adoption of new technologies.
Before founding Imadgen, Gene served as the Division President for several different business units at MAXIMUS, Inc., (NYSE: MMS), a provider of government services. His business areas of responsibility included: security and identity management; biometrics and smart card; Integrated Justice Information Systems; electronic benefits transfer (EBT) services; and Health Care Systems. Gene joined MAXIMUS through the 1998 acquisition of Phoenix Planning and Evaluation, Ltd (PPE), a company that he co-founded, where he was the Senior Vice President and CFO. PPE was the dominant provider of electronic commerce and EBT services to the federal government and to over 40 states.
Gene received his undergraduate degree in accounting and political science from The American University and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Project Management Professional (PMP®).
Michael Stull
Senior Vice President, Capture and Proposal Management
Mr. Stull is the Senior Vice President for Capture and Proposal Management at InfoZen. Mr. Stull has 20 years of progressively responsible IT experience supporting both commercial and federal clients. He has extensive experience in systems infrastructure and operations, software development and systems lifecycle management methods, and management consulting services.
As an InfoZen Vice President, he managed key projects and programs, providing project leadership, program control, and customer satisfaction for federal clients over the past few years including, GSA, USPTO, DHS/ USCIS, CMS, DoD clients and others. This work has included management and technical support in areas including large Web portals and Web infrastructure, complex data warehouses, organization planning and development, data center planning and operations, and mission-based services including counterterrorism and Intel support.
Mr. Stull began his career in the federal sector planning enterprise-wide new technology rollouts, then worked as a Sr. Consultant for Booz, Allen & Hamilton(BAH) supporting the information technology and management requirements of both federal and commercial clients. He subsequently founded an e-Healthcare and Health informatics-related startup organizations after leaving BAH to better connect large health providers with physicians and consumers. Prior to joining InfoZen in 2004, Mr. Stull consulted to federal and commercial organizations in the U.S., Europe, and Asia regarding strategic planning, global partnerships, and large web presence and knowledge management initiatives. He has significant IT experience in emerging markets including Russia and China, and speaks a number of foreign languages.
Alain Kouyate
Chief Technology Officer
Alain Kouyate has more than 18 years of experience building and deploying complex Information Technology solutions for Fortune 100 organizations and in the Federal Government space. Alain was already developing applications that ran on Personal Computers when these where not yet mainstream and considered merely game machines.
At a Fortune 50 manufacturing organization, Alain engineered the first object oriented application which ran on OS/2 and was programmed in Smalltalk. In that same organization, Alain was a key contributor to the deployment of the first ERP system which supported the Human Resource system for more than 50,000 employees. At Carnegie Mellon University, Alain developed the first java-based application which provided a sophisticated, real-time collaboration system over the internet.
At a major fortune 100 financial institution, Alain built the first Java web application which transacted with a mainframe-based system using messaging services and XML. At same company, Alain was the chief application architect for the bank's foray into the e-commerce world, architecting a fully clustered, redundant and scalable J2EE application server environment.
Alain's technical expertise spans areas such as web portals, complex process automation, transactional database systems, data warehouses, client/server applications, legacy system integration and enterprise application integration, ETL and data mining, Object Oriented Methodologies, Agile Methodologies and the Rational Process. Alain has a Broad understanding of process improvement initiatives for software development and infrastructure support organizations (CMMi and ITIL).
Dr. Michael Lay
Chief Scientist
With more than 30 years of experience in the field of computer science, Dr. Michael Lay's knowledge ranges from system architecture and programming to leading large implementation teams. His expertise in information storage and retrieval systems has developed from concentrated study of indexing theory in graduate school where he graduated with a PhD in Computer and Information Science. Later, while teaching at the University of Maryland, he further developed his ideas of information retrieval in distributed databases and honed his programming skills by implementing many new techniques for distributed database retrieval.
While employed by Computer Sciences Corporation, Dr. Lay led several large projects that implemented ground control systems for NASA near-earth satellites, where he contributed considerably to the design and implementation of database engines supporting these facilities. After joining Online Computer Systems, later Reed Technology and Information Services (RTIS), Inc., Dr. Lay concentrated on the design and implementation of compact, speedy indexing and retrieval techniques. He also spearheaded the development of some of the first commercial CD-ROM database products known to the industry.
At InfoZen, Dr. Lay has focused his efforts on building next-generation information systems centered around the Internet and database applications. He is an accomplished designer and a proven implementer of complex systems, and employs a wide variety of design and implementation tools.
Amy McPartland, Esq.
Director of Human Capital
Amy McPartland is InfoZen’s Director of Human Capital. Amy oversees all human resource functions, including: recruiting, benefits management, employee relations, personnel security clearances, and policy development. Amy also serves as the company’s in-house counsel. Amy comes to InfoZen with 10 years of experience in the federal contracting industry. Immediately prior to joining InfoZen, Amy was an associate with PilieroMazza in Washington DC, a law firm focused on representing small to mid-sized government contracting companies. Before practicing law, Amy served as the Director of Human Resources and Facility Security Officer for two other DC-area contracting firms. As an attorney, Amy specialized in labor & employment law, government contracting, small business programs, and general corporate law.
Amy holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English & Communications as well as her Juris Doctorate from the University of Maryland. She is a member of the Maryland state bar, the District of Columbia bar, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. Before entering the government contracting sector, Amy was a performer and director of the Ice Capades.
Aaron Kilinski
Vice-President of Strategy and Solutions
Aaron is Vice-President of Strategy and Solutions, focusing on corporate strategy for solutions, branding, and strategic business development. Aaron has broad experience within Homeland Security and an in-depth understanding of current information technology marketplace solutions and trends. By aligning business and technical strategies, he is highly adept at communicating to both business and technical experts, to solve business needs with technical solutions. This experience allows him to deliver transformative business solutions that leverage innovative information technology services.
Prior to joining InfoZen, Aaron held multiple positions in the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), where he supported the strategic planning and systems integration of multiple stove-piped people screening systems. Aaron directed the development and deployment of both an enterprise investigative case management system, and a data integration/business intelligence solution; which provided the basis for an enterprise reporting and performance management system, for all TSA screening and credentialing programs. Aaron was also actively involved in market analysis and industry outreach activities regarding the use of identity analysis, resolution, and verification products, within the Homeland Security and Intelligence Communities.
Before TSA, Aaron worked for Accenture, where he held multiple technical and project management positions. His most recent Accenture experience was within the Department of Homeland Security, where he supported the design, development and deployment of an automated identification system. This system integrated Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), License Plate Reader (LPR), and real-time data acquisition technologies, as part of a Services Oriented Architecture, to evaluate the use of these technologies for an automated Entry/Exit Tracking System.
Prior to Accenture, Aaron worked for Bechtel, where he worked as a Mechanical/Nuclear Engineer, at multiple US-based nuclear power plants.
Aaron holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, from Virginia Polytechnic Institute (Virginia Tech) and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®).
